A planning application was prepared and submitted to St Albans council, Hertfordshire for a contemporary single storey rear extension to the detached property. The proposal also comprises of reconfiguring the ground floor to provide a study with a shower and a new utility room. The first floor bathroom would be reconfigured to provide a larger family bathroom and refitting new sanitarywares to the existing ensuite in the master bedroom.
A new front porch will also be created to give a bigger sense of space on the ground floor hallway.
The new extension at the rear of the house will be cladded in zinc to provide a contemporary appearance and a contrast with the existing brick finished property.
