Sackville Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Taking advantage of the governments enlarged household extension scheme, the project at Sackville Road involved adding an extension to an existing extension to create additional internal floor space.  To achieve the additional floor space, a Prior Approval Notification was submitted and approved by Newcastle City Council.

The brief from the client was to remodel the bungalow to form a generous but proportionately sized kitchen, dining, family lounge, an office and a shower room.  The result is a 4m extension finished in white render added onto the rear of the existing 2m extension.  New rooflights were also added to the roof of the existing extension and the new extension, promoting natural light into the internal space which otherwise lacked natural light. The result of the extension with double french doors out to the garden has allowed the family to enjoy the close connection to the outdoor space.
