With a growing family and the current condition of the house in need of upgrading, refurbishment work was urgently required to bring the property to current standards. Through a thorough detailed design exercise with the client, the final proposal of the refurbishment consisted of a 6m ground floor extension, a 3m first floor extension, a loft conversion and a new front porch.
Two separate planning applications were submitted to Merton council for the overall scheme. A Permitted Development application was submitted for the proposed loft in order to obtain the maximum allowable additional roof space. A separate planning application was submitted for the ground, first floor extensions and the front porch.
Both applications were successfully granted by Merton council for the proposed scheme.
The proposed ground floor would accommodate a full open plan layout with a front lounge area, a central kitchen forming the main hub of the ground floor and a large family/dining area in the extension looking out through full height sliding doors towards the garden.
The proposed first floor will see a new Master Ensuite Bedroom with a walk in dressing room.
The proposed loft consists a new double bedroom, family bathroom and a study area.
